Marketing Director – Scientific Communication & Advocacy
and help lead the scientific strategy that shapes how we educate, engage, and mobilize key partners in support of the ATTR portfolio—an inherited form of amyloidosis driven by abnormal transthyretin proteins.
In this role, you will lead the development and execution of scientific communications, Peer‑to‑Peer and Speaker Bureau strategy, thought‑leader engagement, and national commercial congress presence. You will collaborate cross‑functionally with HCP & Consumer Marketing, Sales, Global, Corporate Affairs, and Medical Affairs teams to ensure cohesive scientific messaging and impactful advocacy.
Role Overview This position leads all
Scientific Communication & National ESE Advocacy
efforts for ATTR therapy. You will serve as the scientific messaging expert for the brand and drive high‑impact strategies that enhance credibility, understanding, and engagement among HCPs, thought leaders, and key influencers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as the
clinical messaging expert , guiding the Brand Team and supporting credible scientific discussions with internal and external partners.
Lead the
Peer‑to‑Peer strategy , Speaker Bureau, scientific content development, and congress commercial presence.
Build and strengthen relationships with
Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)
to elevate scientific advocacy and credibility.
Drive articulation of an end‑to‑end
value proposition
across the brand’s full offering.
Manage the
brand budget end‑to‑end , ensuring financial rigor, timely reporting, and ROI‑driven decision making.
Monitor and synthesize qualitative/quantitative data to optimize channel performance and partner engagement.
Influence cross‑functional partners to ensure alignment to brand KPIs and strategic priorities.
Develop
multi‑channel media measurement frameworks
and analytics plans to inform investment strategy.
Lead budgeting and forecasting activities while aligning investment to brand needs and growth opportunities.
Identify market dynamics and competitive insights that inform strategy; partner with Global and Medical to deepen market understanding.
Engage key influencers to extend brand reach and relevance.
Design and implement
data‑driven, multi‑channel programs
aligned to business goals and focused on maximizing impact.
Champion innovative approaches that enhance execution and accelerate competitive differentiation.
Essential Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree
5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, scientific, clinical, institutional, or related industries
Minimum 3 years of pharmaceutical commercial experience
Preferred Requirements
Advanced Degree in Business, Marketing, or Science
Strong presentation and negotiation skills
Ability to navigate ambiguity and lead through complexity
Prior experience in relevant therapeutic areas
Proven ability to lead brand strategy and leverage against it
Demonstrated track record of strong performance against strategic and operational goals
Experience working within cross‑functional business units
Pay Transparency / On‑Site Office Policy The annual base pay for this position ranges from $190,572–$233,538 USD Annual. Hourly and salaried non‑exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short‑term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity‑based long‑term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered include a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employees will be in an “at‑will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
