Arborist Advisor – Sales & Consulting
Scenic City Arborists, Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States, 37450
We’re not just here to cut trees—and we’re not just giving advice. Scenic City Arborists is a small, skilled, and growing tree care company that combines expert assessments with real, actionable solutions. We care deeply about the health of trees, the trust of our customers, and the well‑being of our employees.
We’re looking for a full‑time
Arborist Advisor
to meet with customers, assess their needs, and quote jobs for our crews to complete. This role is about more than just walking a property—it’s about understanding what the client wants, identifying what the trees need, and building clear, accurate proposals that reflect both. You’ll be the first face our customers see, and your work will set the tone for the high‑quality service we’re known for: professional, knowledgeable, and trustworthy.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Meet daily with residential, municipal, and commercial clients to assess their tree care needs
Prepare and send detailed proposals using our sales software
Follow up with clients to answer questions, check in if they haven’t booked, and guide them toward the right next steps
Maintain strong client relationships built on trust, clarity, and follow‑through
Ensure each job is clearly communicated and well set up—covering tree needs, customer expectations, crew capabilities, and equipment requirements
Work closely with the Office Manager and Operations Manager to continually refine our quoting processes so they work better for everyone—customers, teammates, and trees
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
Has 2+ years of experience in the tree industry (climbing preferred)
or
in a tree‑related field
Is an
ISA Certified Arborist
or qualifies to become one upon hire (we’ll pay for the exam and help you prepare)
Can identify (or is excited to learn) local trees, diagnose common pests and diseases, and recommend best‑practice solutions
Communicates clearly and confidently—with clients, teammates, and leadership
Has a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Is comfortable with a mix of field work, office time, and remote work
A degree in arboriculture, forestry, horticulture, environmental science, or a related field is a plus, but not required
Existing sales experience is valuable, but not required
Why Work With Us: We’re a locally owned company with a reputation for doing things right—and doing right by our people. We don’t push removals just to win bids. We don’t rush through quotes or take shortcuts. We invest in our team, our community, and the long‑term health of our city’s trees.
Our employee retention is strong because we take care of our people. We build schedules that are sustainable year‑round, not just when the phones are ringing off the hook. No seasonal layoffs. No burnout quotas. Just steady, meaningful work with a team that backs each other up. Some tangible benefits include:
Competitive, full‑time pay plus commission based on job profitability
Paid time off and holidays
Monthly healthcare stipend and direct primary care membership
Safety‑first culture—but we’ll talk about it over pancakes, not paperwork
Flexible scheduling that balances your needs with those of our clients
Opportunities for growth and professional development during an exciting stage in our company’s journey
A team culture rooted in trust, autonomy, learning—and long‑term sustainability for everyone at Scenic City Arborists
We’re also the kind of company that shows up to local tree plantings and serves on the board of the Chattanooga Tree Commission. You might catch Vivaldi playing from the cab of a diesel dump truck while hauling a mini‑skid. If you’ve ever accidentally led a tree education session at the grocery store—and have a healthy appreciation for chainsaw memes—you’ll fit right in.
If you care about Chattanooga’s tree canopy—and want to be part of a team that treats trees and people with real respect—reach out. We’d love to meet you.
