
Overview
Southampton Golf Club is seeking a dynamic and service-driven Sales Associate/Merchandiser to support retail operations within our distinctive Golf Shop. This role is central to creating a welcoming and memorable experience for our members and guests through thoughtful merchandising, attentive and personalized service, and a strong knowledge of premium golf and lifestyle products.
Experience Required
Prior retail or golf shop experience preferred; merchandising background is a plus.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficient with POS systems and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel, inventory systems).
Passion for golf or familiarity with golf products is highly desirable.
Ability to stand for long periods and lift to 30 lbs.
Availability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts.
Essential Responsibilities
Greet and assist members and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
Provide knowledgeable recommendations on golf apparel, equipment, accessories, and gifts.
Operate the point-of-sale system for purchases, returns, and exchanges.
Assist with special orders, product inquiries, and member accounts.
Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor.
Merchandising: Receive, tag, and display merchandise according to visual merchandising standards.
Maintain inventory levels and restock merchandise as needed.
Assist with seasonal floor changes, markdowns, and promotions.
Monitor inventory accuracy and assist with periodic stock counts.
Support setup and breakdown of member events, tournaments, and trunk shows.
Work closely with the Head Golf Professional and other team members to meet sales goals.
Provide feedback on member preferences, product performance, and inventory needs.
Maintain awareness of club events and services to cross-promote to members.
