Job Description
Drive daily shop floor lean improvements by eliminating waste, improving flow, and deploying Built In Quality and Just In Time solutions.
Conduct daily point Kaizen activities and frequent medium complexity Kaizen events on work stations.
Engage Tier 1 and Tier 2 employees to expose sources of waste and address them systematically.
Provide lean tools and training to shop floor associates and shop floor leaders.
Utilize metrics to prioritize focus areas and demonstrate impact of lean improvement actions.
Actively cultivate lean culture among Tier 1 and Tier 2 employees, reinforcing Lean Management Tools and Disciplines, such as A3 process, MDI, Tiered Management, and others.
Provide visible, high energy, inspiring personal leadership in the drive to deploy lean culture and lean process improvements on the shop floor.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain detailed Value Stream Maps, Process Models, and Work Station design models that govern the operational performance of the production lines or other areas, as assigned.
Prioritize and elevate visibility of "next in" improvement opportunities for assigned production lines or other areas, as assigned.
Establish a playboook or point kaizen and larger kaizen event priorities to support short-term and medium-term output and efficiency targets for assigned production lines or other areas, as assigned.
Personally lead daily Kaizen events to realize most impactful short and medium term improvement opportunities.
Utilize daily Kaizen event leadership as opportunity to coach and mentor Tier 1 and Tier 2 employees to gain point kaizen skills and develop their own lean tool and skill proficiency.
Serve as primary coach and engaged working partner with Tier 1 and Tier 2 employees, to cultivate a Lean culture of continuous daily improvement.
Actively deploy and leverage Lean Process tools and disciplines, including, but not limited to Waste Reduction, Flow Improvements, Built In Quality, Just In Time, Tiered Management, A3 Process, Toyota Kata, MDI, and similar tools and structures.
Provide visible, high energy, and inspiring leadership in the drive to deploy lean process improvements across assigned production areas, with particular focus on Tier 1 and Tier 2 level employees.
Deliver on-the-job coaching and occasional formal training to Tier 1 and Tier 2 level employees.
Typically, 1 or 2 direct reports, including other Lean Management employees or others, as assigned.
Qualification, Skill, And/or Competency Requirements
Minimum 5 years professional experience.
Bachelor's degree required.
Preferred experience as a Lean operations practitioner, industrial engineer, or manufacturing engineer in a lean operations environment.
Perform in a tactful, professional and flexible manner with sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and opinions with a strong ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
Strategic thinking and change management capabilities.
Drive results through persuasiveness and influencing skills; organize self and others with timely follow through and execution.
Facilitation and project management skills.
Build highly effective relationships, develop people, and create high-performing teams.
Pay Range $69,529.00 - $107,771.00
