Our client is seeking an experienced

Director of Emergency Services

to oversee clinical operations, staff development, and departmental performance within a 12‑bed Emergency Department. This leader will ensure high‑quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency while fostering a culture of professional growth and evidence‑based practice. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership experience in emergency services, a solid understanding of departmental operations, and the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and hospital leadership. Requirements: Perform additional duties within scope of practice as assigned. Implement departmental goals, policies, and evidence‑based clinical protocols. Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure readiness for regulatory surveys. Oversee daily departmental operations, including patient flow, staffing, clinical performance, and service delivery. Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and administrative teams to address clinical issues and support patient‑centered outcomes. Lead performance improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory, clinical, and organizational standards. Develop and manage departmental budgets; monitor financial performance and resource utilization. Plan and oversee staffing activities, including hiring, onboarding, evaluations, corrective actions, and scheduling. Direct staff education, competency development, and continuing education initiatives. Promote a positive work environment that supports professional development and team engagement. Integrate evidence‑based practices into clinical workflows and operational processes. Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Emergency Department, ensuring safe, high‑quality patient care. Qualifications/Must-Haves: Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. Master's degree preferred (or equivalent experience) 2–3 years of leadership experience in Emergency Services required. Experience with departmental operations, including budgeting and staffing. Experience in staff development, education, and performance management. Strong understanding of emergency care standards, regulatory requirements, and quality initiatives. Licensure & Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire. Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 6 months.
