Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Specialist – $52/hr – San Antonio, TX – Virtual – 20 Weeks
Position Overview The Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Specialist provides instruction and support to students with visual impairments to help them safely and independently navigate their environment. This role promotes social, emotional, and intellectual growth by teaching essential travel skills, environmental awareness, and independence strategies. The O&M Specialist adapts instruction to individual student needs and follows all professional and educational practice standards.
Assignment Details Location: San Antonio, TX
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 20 weeks
Schedule: Flexible
Hours: Up to 20 hours per week
Pay Rate: $52/hour
Modality: Virtual (up to 20 hrs/week)

Details of Assignment
Part‑time virtual O&M services
Supporting students across multiple locations in North and South Texas
Virtual interview required
Responsibilities
Provide individualized O&M instruction to students with visual impairments
Teach safe travel techniques, orientation strategies, and environmental navigation
Support development of independence, self‑advocacy, and functional mobility skills
Collaborate with educational teams and families
Document progress and maintain compliance with required standards
Requirements
Valid state teaching certificate (as required by applicable regulations)
Experience working with students in instructional settings preferred
CPR certification if applicable
TB screening and current health certificate per state guidelines
Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
