Job Title: Instructional Systems Designer Pay Rate: $35 - $40.71/ hour on W2 only

Job Type: Contract – 12 Months

Job Description:

Location Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote) – Metro Detroit, MI

Schedule Preferred hours between 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $40/hour

Duration: 12-month contract with possible extensions

Travel: Occasional travel to manufacturing/assembly sites in Michigan

Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) to design, develop, and support high-quality training programs for technical and business audiences. This role will focus heavily on building engaging e-learning and blended learning solutions to support system implementations, operational improvements, and workforce development initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing/engineering environment.

The ideal candidate has strong expertise in instructional design methodology, strong communication skills, and hands‑on experience developing learning content using modern authoring and multimedia tools.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or related field.

Strong experience designing training for multiple delivery methods (ILT, WBT, VILT, blended).

Proficiency with e-learning development tools such as:

Articulate (Storyline/Rise)

Portfolio demonstrating technical and soft‑skill training samples and instructional design methodology

(ADDIE/SAM).

Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to support diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Design & Development

Design and develop training content using

ADDIE and SAM

methodologies.

Create learning materials in multiple formats including:

Instructor‑led training (ILT)

Virtual instructor‑led training (VILT)

Web‑based/self‑paced training (WBT)

Job aids, guides, manuals, videos, and blended learning programs

Develop instructor and participant guides, technical documentation, and visual learning assets.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Support

Partner with program leaders and cross‑functional teams to develop training plans and deliverables.

Work directly with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather requirements and validate technical content.

Coach SMEs on how to structure and deliver content effectively.

Analyze training needs and align course development with business objectives.

Build assessments and evaluation tools to measure training effectiveness.

Improve training materials based on learner feedback and performance outcomes.

Additional Support

Assist with training‑related communications and promotional content when needed.

Support course testing, deployment, and setup activities.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Instructional Design/Technology or related discipline.

5+ years of experience in curriculum development, e‑learning development, or technical training.

Experience supporting manufacturing, engineering, or automotive environments.

Experience developing communication materials and training promotions using graphic tools.
