PeakSpan Capital is an emerging growth stage investment firm with a simple, focused mission of partnering with innovative business software entrepreneurs to help them achieve excellent risk‑adjusted outcomes. PeakSpan looks to partner with businesses that have removed the binary risk levers typically associated with early stage venture capital, where product‑market fit has been established and the next phase of growth and maturation focuses on execution and sensible scaling initiatives. PeakSpan further refines its lens by taking a deeply thematic approach to investing, with investment professionals focusing on no more than 2‑3 segments or themes for each team member within the B2B software landscape (PeakSpan’s “BluePrint Market Themes”), which are aligned around dynamic segments of the software universe such as Customer Experience Management, Education Technology, Human Capital Management, Hospitality Technology, Property Technology, etc. which the firm has conviction will be attractive areas to evaluate for years to come. PeakSpan was founded in 2015 and has two offices; one in New York City and one in San Mateo, CA. The firm takes an active role with its portfolio companies and seeks to lead the rounds it invests in with investments of between $15‑50M. PeakSpan is one of the first technology‑enabled investment firms and leverages proprietary technology throughout the investment process to uncover insights into company and market performance. The firm’s technology assets inject efficiency into the workflow of PeakSpan’s investment professionals, enabling team members to focus attention on high‑value strategic initiatives across the investment lifecycle.
About the Summer Analyst Program: PeakSpan is looking to hire ~10‑15 paid interns (rising seniors – class of 2028 & rising juniors – class of 2029). The analyst program lasts for 8 weeks (early June – late July). PeakSpan is currently looking for analysts across both its offices (New York City and San Mateo, CA). Applicants should list their #1 office location in their cover letter when applying and should not submit two applications. PeakSpan has hosted ~85 summer analysts in total over the past several years with great success. Analysts have gone on to work at PeakSpan as well as a variety of other roles in the technology and finance industries.
About the Role: The PeakSpan summer analyst program was created to provide current undergraduate students with a unique and rich opportunity to join one or multiple of PeakSpan’s BluePrint Market Theme teams, cultivate a deep understanding of the theme, and contribute meaningfully towards the progress of the theme in a variety of capacities. The key objective of a BluePrint Theme team at PeakSpan is simple: to cultivate a strong pipeline of investment prospects in a given category of business software. Closely tied to this objective is building exceptional domain expertise across a variety of sub‑categories within each theme. Interns will work closely with investment professionals and will be treated as a full member of the team. Above all else, our aim is to provide interns with a rich first experience sourcing software investments, a tangible skillset (spanning: research, oral and written communication, financial and organizational best practices), and a foundational knowledge of the given BluePrint themes.
