
Job Description:
As a Senior BI Specialist, you will design, develop, and maintain advanced business intelligence solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role requires deep expertise in Microsoft BI tools, dimensional modelling, SQL development, and ETL processes. You will support analytics initiatives with a particular focus on Electronic Health Records (EHR) data and ensure strict compliance with HIP nd other regulatory requirements when handling sensitive medical information.
Key Responsibilities:
Work extensively with medical data while ensuring compliance with HIPAA requirements. Design and implement Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize business metrics and trends. Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and views for efficient data retrieval and transformation. Build and maintain ETL processes using SSIS to integrate data from multiple sources into data warehouses. Apply dimensional modelling techniques to design scalable and maintainable analytics data models. Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and refine BI requirements. Ensure data integrity, quality, and security when working with sensitive or regulated datasets. Maintain clean code repositories and release processes using Git and Azure DevOps pipelines. Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years of experience in BI development or data analytics. Expertise in Power BI including DAX, Power Query, and data modelling. Strong experience with SQL Server, T-SQL, and performance tuning. Experience with SSIS for ETL design and implementation. Strong knowledge of dimensional modelling and data warehousing concepts. Understanding of the Microsoft data ecosystem including Azure and Excel. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Azure Data Services such as Data Factory or Synapse Analytics. Familiarity with data governance and security best practices.
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
