
Real Estate Attorney (New York)

EA Talent Solutions has been engaged by a top downtown Manhattan real estate law firm who is seeking a talented and driven mid-level Real Estate Attorney to join their New York office. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record representing institutional lenders in sophisticated real estate finance matters and experience across commercial leasing and broader commercial real estate transactions—including acquisitions, dispositions, and joint ventures.
Responsibilities : Represent banks, debt funds, and other institutional lenders in a wide range of real estate finance transactions, including mortgage and mezzanine loans, construction financing, and loan modifications and workouts Draft, negotiate, and review loan agreements, intercreditor agreements, and other financing documents. Oversee due diligence reviews, including title and survey analysis, and assist with all aspects of closings. Coordinate with clients, internal teams, title companies, surveyors, lenders, and other third parties throughout the transaction lifecycle. Independently manage transactions and closings from inception through completion. Work directly with clients on deal strategy, structuring, and execution. Handle commercial leasing transactions, including drafting and negotiating office, retail, and industrial leases. Lead acquisitions, dispositions, and joint venture matters, including drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, JV documents, and ancillary agreements. Stay current on legal developments, market trends, and industry practices affecting real estate finance and leasing.
Qualifications : J.D. from an accredited law school. Admission to the New York Bar. 4+ years of relevant experience at a top-tier law firm or in-house legal department. Strong knowledge of real estate finance law, industry practices, and market standards. Experience in commercial leasing and general commercial real estate transactions. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills. Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines with minimal supervision.
Preferred Skills : Experience with syndicated loan facilities, intercreditor agreements, and co-lender arrangements. Exposure to ground leases, sale-leaseback structures, and mixed-use projects. Familiarity with REITs, opportunity zones, or other tax-advantaged investment structures.
