Position: Steel Erection Estimator (Remote)

Now, we’re seeking an Estimator to help us win and deliver the next generation of landmark projects. We are seeking an estimator to contribute to the team, or a experienced leader ready to take over the department.

What You’ll Do:

As an Estimator you will play a pivotal role in shaping project scope, budgets, and execution. Key responsibilities include: Review drawings, specifications, and request for proposals (RFPs) to understand project requirements Perform detailed quantity takeoffs (steel, concrete, connections, labor, equipment) Prepare cost estimates, direct costs, indirects, overheads, and contingency allowances Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate bids from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers Work closely with engineering, design, and operations teams to validate constructability assumptions Develop and present bid packages and proposals to management and clients Monitor and maintain estimation databases and historical cost records Provide value-engineering input to optimize cost, schedule, and constructability Assist in postbid work: reviewing subcontractor scopes, clarifications, and incorporating changes Support change order pricing and claims as needed What We’re Looking For (Qualifications & Skills)

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) Minimum of

5 years’ experience

estimating structural / specialty construction (steel erection, precast, heavy structure) Strong knowledge of construction methods, structures, steel detailing, connections, concrete, erection sequencing Proficiency with takeoff/estimating software (e.g. Bluebeam, OnScreen Takeoff, Sage Estimating or equivalent) Experience with Excel models, cost databases, and bid spreadsheets Excellent negotiation skills and vendor/subcontractor sourcing relationships Strong verbal and written communication: ability to present to management and clients High attention to detail, with ability to think holistically (schedule, risk, logistics) Ability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines Willingness to travel to job sites for bidding, site visits, or support (as required) Professional attitude, integrity, teamwork orientation What You’ll Get (Benefits & Perks)
