Key Responsibilities:
Develop precise and comprehensive cost estimates for commercial construction projects, factoring in materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Thoroughly review project plans, specifications, and documentation to grasp project scope and requirements.
Collaborate effectively with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather essential information for accurate estimates.
Evaluate project drawings and specifications to pinpoint potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
Leverage estimating software and tools to optimize the estimating process and enhance accuracy.
Prepare and present detailed cost estimates to clients, architects, and project stakeholders.
Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and negotiations as needed.
Stay informed on industry trends, construction materials, and labor costs to maintain a competitive edge in bidding.
Assist in the creation of project budgets and schedules.
Support project teams throughout the procurement and bidding process.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 5 years of commercial construction estimating experience.
Proficient in construction estimating software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
Highly detail-oriented with robust analytical skills.
Proven record of delivering accurate and timely cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
Familiarity with value engineering and cost-saving strategies is a plus.
Capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
Professional certification such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) is advantageous.
