This position develops, governs, and operationalizes global credit risk management frameworks protecting Valmont’s financial health while supporting revenue growth. This role oversees global credit policies, customer creditworthiness assessment, international credit risk mitigation tools.

The Sr Director, Global Credit reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

Valmont is a global industrial company with revenues of $4 billion, with major operations in North America, Brazil, Australia, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.**Essential Functions:*** **Essential Functions:** Lead global credit organization; all credit roles report solid line into this position.* Establish and govern company-wide global credit policy.* Oversee credit risk management and mitigation structures.* Conduct and approve strategic global credit assessments.* Develop global credit frameworks and authority matrices.* Evaluate alternatives to mitigate credit risk including payment terms, down payments, letters of credit, credit insurance, trade financing, alternative bank financing for customers and others.

Select those most appropriate to Valmont and establish policies and standards of performance for credit operations globally.* Hire, retain and develop a global credit organization operating in all Valmont regions* Partner with Segment and region leadership, Sales, Finance, Legal, and Operations to align terms with financial and commercial strategy.* Possess authority to grant and deny credit, approve/deny any exception to policy and has the authority to place shipments on credit hold.* Provide executive reporting to CFO and leadership.**Other Important Details about the Role:**The role may require 20–40% global travel to support international credit operations and partnerships. It also includes oversight of global banking and credit‑insurance relationships, along with influence on commercial strategy and contract structuring. The position demands a high degree of autonomy and strategic judgment, reflecting its enterprise‑wide impact. **Required Qualifications of Every Candidate:*** Bachelor’s in Finance/Accounting/Business.* 10+ years global credit/risk exp.* Int’l LC, credit insurance* Global team leadership.* Strong credit analysis* Strong written and verbal communication skills.**Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:*** MBA or advanced degree.* 3-5 years as a global credit leader for a public company* Recognized treasury or credit certification* Experience in a global industrial company* Specific experience with credit in Brazil, Australia and the Middle East* Experience with OneStream/IFS/QAD* Experience modernizing global credit systems.**Benefits**Valmont offers employees and their families a comprehensive Total Wellbeing benefit package to ensure their individual and family’s overall wellness needs are met.
