Overview We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and experienced Real Estate Paralegal
to join our team. In this vital role, you will collaborate closely with our attorneys to conduct all aspects of real estate closings, ensuring prompt, exceptional client service. The ideal candidate is a certified estate paralegal or has a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in real estate, specifically residential closings.
Key Responsibilities Assist attorneys and collaborate with other team members (e.g., title paralegals) to promptly close a variety (primarily residential) of real estate transactions. Draft real estate transaction-related documents- deed packages, closing statements (closing disclosures, a/k/a HUD-1 statements), lien waivers, and agreements, easements, etc. with attorney oversight and review. Communicate directly with clients, real estate brokers, lenders, and other law firms. Organize and maintain physical and electronic files and client data. Manage deadlines with attorneys to ensure efficient, timely closings.
Qualifications and Skills Experience/ Education:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience with a specific focus real estate. Experience in real estate (specifically closings) valued over a specific degree; completion of an ABA-approved paralegal program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is a plus . Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). SoftPro preferred, but training available. E-recording systems preferred, but training available. Core Competencies: Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities (including with busy supervising attorneys), real estate agents, and clients. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a robust closing load/ calendar and work independently. Other License/Certification:
Must have a Notary Public commission in North Carolina or be willing and eligible to obtain one upon hire.
