We are seeking a motivated and meticulous individual with substantial experience as a real estate paralegal. Primary duties will focus on the facilitation of real estate transactions from contract through closing. Experience with title work, including abstract review and title insurance prep, is strongly valued. In addition to real estate transactions, this position will support our attorneys in the areas of school and education law, estate planning, probate administration, contract law, business law, and litigation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist attorneys with preparing legal documents for real estate closings, estate planning, probate administration, corporate entity formations, business transactions, and litigation; Coordinate and facilitate real estate closings, including review of title abstracts, preparation of title insurance policies and closing packages, ensuring accurate disbursement of funds, and completing post-closing items; Maintain accurate records and manage firm and client files; Manage firm and attorney calendars and deadlines; File and record documents with courts and other governmental offices; Provide administrative office support, such as answering phones, assisting clients and other office visitors, drafting correspondence, client billing, and other clerical tasks; and Maintain firm and client confidentiality.

Qualifications and Skills:

Minimum of two years of experience as a paralegal, including real estate transactions (with sound knowledge and understanding of South Carolina real estate practices from contract through closing) and general administrative assistance in a law office; Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to perform thorough document review and proofreading and to consistently deliver quality and accurate work products; Proficiency with SoftPro, Microsoft Office, Sage Timeslips, and QuickBooks; The ability to professionally and effectively communicate and coordinate with attorneys and other firm staff, clients, court staff, lenders, title insurance companies, and others orally and in writing; The ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously; and Notary Public certification in South Carolina.

Work Schedule and Benefits:

Full-time, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday; Health, dental, and vision insurance; Paid time off, sick leave, and paid holidays; and Paid parking in city parking garage.

The estimated salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000. Actual salary will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications.
