Position Summary The Head Golf Professional leads all aspects of the golf operation and Golf Shop, ensuring exceptional service, strong financial performance, and an outstanding daily golf experience. This role oversees golf operations staff, manages merchandise and budgets, and delivers tournaments, outings, and programs that drive engagement and revenue.

Key Responsibilities Golf Operations Leadership

Direct daily golf operations in alignment with Heritage Golf Group standards and service philosophy.

Ensure a welcoming, professional experience for all Members and guests.

Maintain daily pace of play and oversee tee sheet management.

Maintain a visible presence with Members and guests to promote engagement and service excellence.

Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and develop Assistant Professionals and Golf Operations team members.

Conduct performance reviews and support ongoing employee development.

Ensure professional appearance standards and uniform compliance.

Manage Golf Shop operations, presentation, and service standards.

Partner with Heritage Golf Group on merchandise planning, purchasing, and inventory control.

Maintain ordering, receiving, and inventory processes to meet profitability and cost-of-sales goals.

Programs, Events & Tournaments

Plan and administer the club tournament calendar and promotional programs.

Assist in planning and executing golf outings and special events.

Support development of marketing and promotional materials for golf programming.

Outside Operations & Facilities

Oversee driving range, cart fleet, bag storage, club repair, starter and ranger operations.

Ensure facilities, equipment, and service areas meet Club standards.

Develop and manage the annual golf operations budget.

Assist the General Manager with capital planning and long-term improvements.

Monitor expenses, labor, and operational performance to meet financial goals.

Maintain accurate scheduling, tee time reservations, and communications.

Qualifications

PGA Membership or active pursuit preferred.

3+ years of golf operations leadership experience.

Strong leadership, merchandising, and tournament management skills.

Proven ability to manage budgets, staff, and daily operations.

Excellent communication and Member service skills.

Ability to work weekends, holidays, and peak golf season hours.
