The Head Golf Professional is responsible for ensuring the standard of quality golf services and experiences to Club Members and Resort guests. He/she is also responsible for overseeing daily golf operations and supervision of the golf staff.
Duties & Functions
Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner
Ensure elevated Membership and Golf experiences commensurate with CVR standards
Maintain regular attendance in compliance with CVR standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the resort
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working
Comply at all times with CVR standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient golf operations
Maintain a warm friendly demeanor at all times; employees must be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to guests, managers and fellow employees
Provide professional golf instruction for members and guests as requested
Respond to all guest and member requests, problems, or complaints in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner. Follow up to ensure satisfaction
Assist with development of employee morale and ensure training of golf personnel
Maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with managers, employees and other departments
Ensure implementation of all CVR policies and house rules
Assist and supervise golf employees on a daily basis and ensure all SOPs are being followed properly
Train new employees, help to develop and implement training programs
Authorize and sign adjustments and refunds
Confirm that all duties are completed by golf staff
Maintain golf shop presence during peak times and as needed
Ensure correct and accurate cash handling
Motivate, coach, counsel, discipline and evaluate performance of all golf personnel
Assist in preparing and conducting all golf personnel interviews and following hiring procedures according to CVR SOPs. Actively support Human Resources with recruiting efforts
Assist in preparation of budgets and forecasts
Prepare employee schedules according to business forecast, payroll budget guidelines and productivity requirements
Review staff's worked hours for payroll compilation and submit to Accounting on a timely basis
Maintain CVR SOPs regarding purchase orders, vouchering of invoices and checkbook accounting
Oversee and ensure success of all tournaments and special events

Assist retail manager as needed
Provide CPR/First Aid as necessary
Conduct meetings according to CVR standards
Attend meetings and training as required by management
Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Mental Requirements
Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the issues raised by co‑workers and guests
Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions
Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc., from disparate sources and consider, adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need
Must be able to show initiative in job performance, including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required
At least 3 years of progressive experience on a golf course or a related field preferred
Previous supervisory experience required
Must have valid driver's license for the applicable state
