About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for its Kansas City site. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and collaborative leader with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, passionate about the mission of the organization. Responsibilities include leading a diverse Selection Advisory Council to identify and address community needs, engaging with local residents to ensure their voices are heard, and serving as a strategic partner for the portfolio organizations. The Executive Director will also be responsible for external relations, including fundraising, and will be expected to have a proven track record in securing financial resources and building relationships across various sectors.
The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to the Kansas City community, a strong understanding of the local philanthropic, nonprofit, government, and business sectors, and a proven ability to bring a racial equity lens to their work. They should be experienced in programmatic leadership, with a focus on results-oriented, evidence-based program design, and have a background in social entrepreneurship and social change. The role requires a leader with superb communication skills, the ability to represent the organization in a professional and engaging manner, and a talent for leading and developing a team in a collaborative and inclusive approach. A Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred, and the candidate should be prepared to work hands-on to grow the organization and its impact in the community.
