About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead and manage its efforts in increasing literacy within the community. The successful candidate will be responsible for spearheading growth, overseeing fundraising and marketing activities, and providing leadership in the development and execution of program, fundraising, marketing, and financial plans. This role involves ensuring that the organization meets the literacy needs of its students, maintaining a proactive and positive image, and serving as the primary spokesperson. The Executive Director will also be involved in fiscal management, strategic planning, and human resource management, and must be a strong advocate for literacy with excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and possess strong fundraising skills, including grant writing and managing. Experience in recruiting, training, and retaining volunteers is essential, as is the ability to work in partnership with various community stakeholders. The role requires a candidate with solid interpersonal skills, computer literacy, and the ability to obtain applicable clearances. The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors, so experience in board administration and support is also beneficial. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader, adept at strategic planning, and capable of managing the organization's resources within budget guidelines.
