Overview Experienced healthcare operations leader responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, and departmental oversight at Kootenai Health. Skilled in organizing and managing cross-functional activities to ensure optimal patient care environments. Proven ability to evaluate and enhance programs, services, policies, and procedures to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and manage activities and operations of the departments

Review and evaluate existing programs, services, policies, and procedures for departmental operations

Maintain financial accountability for departments as assigned

Monitor key performance improvement activities (e.g., goals, key indicators, data collection, and effectiveness of process change)

Facility capital project administration and management

Oversee the functioning of building systems and maintenance

Oversee grounds maintenance and landscaping

Integrate infection prevention and control guidelines and standards within design and construction plans and environmental hygiene operations, including waste management and laundry

Provide guidance, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff

Develop and implement policies and procedures for assigned departments

Lead department quality assurance activities

Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies (CMS, DNV, Joint Commission, OSHA)

Oversee the Environment of Care

Advance facility goals and objectives through proactive planning

Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure services are provided efficiently and timely

Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

Maintain regular and predictable attendance as an essential job function

Perform other related duties as assigned

Competent to meet age-specific needs of the assigned unit

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications

7 years’ leadership in hospital engineering, maintenance, or facilities required

Demonstrated quality leadership in meeting performance plans

Working knowledge of Joint Commission, DNV, NFPA, and other related regulations

Working Conditions

Must be able to maintain a standing or sitting position

Must be able to lift or move up to 35 lbs

Exposure to extreme heat and cold for short periods

Typical equipment used in an office job

Repetitive movements
