Captain (Store Manager)/First Mate (Assistant Manager)/Second Mate (Part time Manager)
Overview Responsible for assisting the management team to drive sales through exceptional customer service. Ensures the customer experience, supports our brand promise (“Every Day Should Feel This Good”) and makes service a top priority.
Functions & Responsibilities
Responsible for meeting their goals/measures
Develops and maintains relationships with top customers
Supports in-store event sourcing and execution
Customer Experience
Ensures the store reflects Shep & Ian’s vision of “Every Day Should Feel This Good” to our customers through “Hosting the Party”
Leads the store in email capture and educating new associates on best practices
Ensures the customer wish list is always current with customers being notified when product arrives
Crew Development
Assists with training new associates
Fosters a welcoming, fun, encouraging and energetic crew and customer environment
Recruits and refers top talent for the store’s teams
Supports store and team‑building activities with the management team
Operations
Maintains loss prevention awareness at all times
Helps maintain a clean and tidy store environment
Maintains merchandising according to company standards, current compass (floorset), and brand initiatives
Contributes to weekly product feedback
Requirements
Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
Team focused, confident, and professional
Creative, adaptable, entrepreneurial and driven by integrity
Effectively sell techniques to achieve sale and repeat business
Flexible schedule including holidays, overnights, weekends
A passion for making people happy
Help recruit, train, motivate, and inspire as part of day‑to‑day responsibilities
Accuracy and attention to detail
Effectively receive and communicate feedback
Positive outlook
Knowledge of product to offer style advice and help customers
Outgoing, friendly & personable with a positive attitude
Customer Service‑oriented experience preferred but not necessary
Passion for the vineyard vines brand
Physical Demands
Stand and/or move around for extended periods of time
Reach, carry, bend, and climb ladders occasionally
Lift up to 40 pounds, unless an accommodation is requested
Benefits & Compensation Salary Range: $15.58 - $17.93 per hour
