
Overview
Position Summary... What you\'ll do. Drives sales by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, accurate and competitive pricing, proper signing, inventory levels, cleanliness of the area, assessing economic trends and community needs, overseeing stocking and rotation of merchandise, setting up cleaning and organizing product displays, and securing fragile and high-shrink merchandise. Leads and develops teams by teaching, training, actively listening to associates, touring stores and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, business initiatives, merchandising and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, provides clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicates business objectives to teams effectively. Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing and supporting customer service initiatives including community outreach and ensuring customer needs and issues are resolved. Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates through hiring, training and mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, and recruiting and developing qualified associates to meet staffing needs and growth potential.
Responsibilities
Control unexplained loss of merchandise and improve profitability by identifying and communicating performance goals and objectives.
Build accountability for policies and procedures; review variances to inventory reports; conduct operational and preinventory reviews; gather data and monitor deficiency trends; identify improvement opportunities.
Communicate and work with managers and associates to determine corrections needed to inventory controls; influence the implementation and execution of control corrections.
Train managers and associates on operational controls and processes in multiple stores; detect, deter, investigate and resolve violations of company policies and criminal activities; conduct investigations; gather evidence and provide case reports.
Partner in collaborative efforts with other investigative entities; monitor safety and risk controls; supervise safety team members; identify accident trends and implement prevention solutions.
Observe workplace practices and provide training to associates on accident prevention techniques; communicate plans to minimize accidents; oversee safety reviews and improvement plans.
Manage facility-level training and execution of asset protection, safety, and receiving procedures; identify training needs and deliver training as needed; manage claims and receiving operations with proper policies and procedures.
Ensure timely processing of claims (damaged, defective, returned, liquidated items, and third-party deliveries) and provide direction for claims or receiving issues; maintain necessary documentation and reporting.
Develop and oversee job-related activities by building relationships with key stakeholders and supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs; identify goals and measure progress toward results.
Ensure compliance with company policies and Open Door guidance; promote ethics and integrity in line with company values.
Build high-performing teams, embrace differences, create a sense of belonging, and foster development opportunities for associates.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Completion of 2 years of college; or 1 year of supervisory experience in a multi-department environment; or 1 year in accounting, claims, inventory control, systems/UPC, personnel, or loss prevention/asset protection; or 2 years in asset protection or related area.
Successful completion of applicable state requirements to work in asset protection; may require a background check and firearms training where applicable.
Associates may be required to attend and complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership; related Live Better U programs; certification in asset protection; experience supervising 5+ direct reports including performance management, mentoring, hiring and firing; investigative experience.
Bachelors in Business or Criminal Justice.
