Job Summary Under the general direction of the Supervisor I, the incumbent will perform complex analytic work associated with the operation of the Property Tax Postponement (PTP) Program.

Duties

Perform intake duties for PTP applications, which includes researching applicant information and data entry of accounts in various databases.

Perform research, review applications, and determine claimant eligibility for the PTP program. Review complex eligibility documentation and prepare requests for legal opinion for complicated ownership issues.

Conduct research and analysis on accounts that are due and payable.

Consult and communicate with debtors and/or representatives to facilitate resolution on long‑standing payment delinquency issues.

Provide analytical services for writing PTP policies, desk procedures, legislative bill analysis, or other projects as necessary.

Communicate both orally and in writing to questions from legal representatives, tax collectors, and the general public regarding the PTP program.

Working Conditions This position is located at The Park, a historic campus environment two blocks from McKinley Park in the heart of residential East Sacramento. The location is easily accessible from US 50 and I‑80, offers free parking, and is close to local restaurants and walking paths. The position is eligible for hybrid telework under California Government Code Section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California. Telework schedules may change and are subject to reevaluation. Specific arrangements can be discussed with the hiring manager. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the State Controller's Office policies.

Ability to reason logically and creatively, use analytical techniques to resolve complex program issues, and perform completed staff work.

Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of customers and provide excellent customer service.

Excellent attendance and dependability.
