Position Summary Providing services to support the priest in solidum with oversight for the administration of Our Lady Queen of Apostles, the organist is responsible for the selection, preparation, and execution of liturgical music.
Services
Coordinate all aspects of the liturgical music program
Plan, rehearse, and execute music for:
Weekend Liturgies (Sat. 4:30pm; Sunday 8:00am, 9:30am (Polish))
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Liturgies
Paschal Triduum Liturgies (Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil, Easter Sunday)
Other Holy Day Masses (January 1, August 15, November 1, December 8, etc.)
Ash Wednesday liturgies
Weddings and Funerals
Other para‑liturgical services
Instruments: Casavant Organ (Opus 2142, 1952)
Language: English and Polish
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Music or related field
Proven experience as a Music director or similar role
Proficiency in playing one or more musical instruments (organ and piano preferred) and lead the congregation in singing
Must be a Catholic in good standing who understands the mission and New Evangelization efforts of the Catholic Church.
Demonstrates deep knowledge of the Roman Catholic Mass, liturgical music styles, and an understanding of the ministerial function of music in the Sacred Liturgy.
Ability to sing Polish for our 9:30am Sunday Mass
Ability to select music that is appropriate for the needs of the community
Ability to maintain confidentiality in all areas
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Completion of Safe Environments training: Protecting God’s Children
Completion of a Background Check
