About the role As a
Business Analyst – Capital Markets , you will make an impact by translating complex trading, regulatory, and data requirements into clear, actionable solutions that support front, middle, and back‑office transformation initiatives. You will be a valued member of the Capital Markets Consulting team and work collaboratively with clients, product owners, technology teams, and other consulting stakeholders.
In this role, you will:
Document and analyze end-to-end trade lifecycle workflows, from order initiation and execution through clearing, settlement, and post‑trade reporting
Translate regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., Dodd-Frank, MiFID II) into functional and technical specifications
Act as a subject matter expert supporting the integration of OMS, EMS, and downstream data platforms across asset classes
Perform impact and gap analysis related to trading models, risk calculations, and data transformations
Partner with business and technology teams to support UAT, production readiness, and post‑deployment knowledge transfer

What you must have to be considered
3–7 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Consulting Analyst within Capital Markets, Investment Banking, Asset Management, or related financial services environments
Strong understanding of trade lifecycle processes across front, middle, and back office functions
Experience translating business and regulatory requirements into functional and technical documentation
Advanced SQL skills for data analysis and investigation across large financial datasets
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline
These will help you succeed
Hands‑on experience with OMS, EMS, or trade lifecycle platforms
Familiarity with FIX protocol and market data providers such as Bloomberg or Refinitiv
Experience supporting regulatory initiatives, including reporting and compliance programs
Working knowledge of Python (Pandas, NumPy) or Excel VBA for financial data analysis
Exposure to risk, pricing, hedging, or settlement processes across asset classes

Compensation The annual base salary for this position is
$70,000 – $90,000 , depending on experience, qualifications, and location. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
