
Junior/Instrument Survey Crew Chief

We are looking for a motivated Junior/Instrument Survey Crew Chief to lead field survey operations. This position offers hands-on experience with diverse projects and excellent opportunities for professional growth within our surveying division.
Responsibilities
Lead 2-3 person survey crews in the field Operate surveying instruments including robotic total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, and data collectors Perform boundary, topographic, construction staking, and ALTA surveys Set control points and establish project benchmarks Collect accurate field data and maintain detailed field notes Ensure crew safety and adherence to company protocols Communicate daily with project managers and office staff Maintain and care for surveying equipment Train and mentor instrument persons and rod persons Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; surveying coursework preferred 2-4 years of field surveying experience Working knowledge of surveying principles and methods Proficiency operating total stations, GPS equipment, and data collectors Ability to read and interpret construction plans and survey plats Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills Valid driver's license with clean driving record Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions Physical ability to carry equipment and work on uneven terrain Preferred Qualifications
CST or LSI certification Experience with Trimble, Leica, or Topcon equipment Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or surveying software Working toward surveying degree or licensure
