Office of Rural Health Transformation – Bismarck, ND – Communications Manager
Drive impactful storytelling throughout North Dakota's health transformation as a Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Communications Manager.
Responsibilities
Partner with agency-wide Communications team members, program leaders, and key partners to build communication and outreach strategies, change management plans, and story engines for the state’s Rural Health Transformation Project.
Listen, identify key messages, and propose strategies that engage the public, stakeholders, and consumers in the state’s health transformation.
Build communications plans with deliverables and planning for audience and channels.
Coordinate, create, solicit, edit, and submit content for communication campaigns; serve as a key contact for media inquiries.
Manage a communication specialist and vendor relationships.
Drive Rural Health Transformation communications projects from initiation to completion.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 5–7 years of significant, progressively strategic work experience.
Demonstrated success working with stakeholders unfamiliar with communications strategies, creating comprehensive strategic communication plans, and integrating change management concepts.
Strong writing capabilities and expertise across multiple channels.
Media relations experience and proven project management skills.
Change management background is a plus.
Team and project management experience preferred.
Location This position is based at the North Dakota State Capital in Bismarck. The candidate selected must reside in the Bismarck/Mandan region or commit to relocating to the area.
Funding of Position This position is funded by a federal grant. If grant dollars do not exist, the continuation of the role will need to be reviewed.
