
Print Production Designer (Contract, Hybrid)
Location: Marlborough | Onsite Tues–Thurs
Our client is seeking a Print Production Designer with strong packaging and pre-press experience to support packaging execution. This role is primarily production and templating focused with minimal concept design. The ideal candidate understands how packaging moves from artwork to physical product and is comfortable working directly with printers and markups.
This is an initial ~2-month contract with potential to extend based on fit and business needs.
What You’ll Do:
Adapt master packaging templates across multiple SKUs
Prepare and release packaging files for print production
Reduce reliance on rendering by refining production-ready artwork
Mark up files and collaborate directly with printers and vendors
Manage revisions, approvals, and uploads within an approval workflow system
Ensure files meet print specifications including dielines, bleeds, and color profiles
Maintain organized production files and version control
What We’re Looking For:
Professional packaging experience (required)
Strong print production and pre-press background
Understanding of how to release packaging to print
Advanced Adobe Illustrator skills required
Working knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop
Comfortable working onsite and reviewing physical proofs
Detail-oriented with strong QA and file organization skills
Preferred:
Additional production and digital design experience
Interest in potential longer-term work beyond the contract
Short-term contract with possibility to extend
