Position Overview OFC Creations is seeking a skilled and solutions-oriented Assistant Technical Director to join our full-time production team. This position works closely with the Director of Theatrical Experiences (Technical Director) to execute all technical elements for theatrical productions, special events, and facility operations.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically versatile, highly efficient, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative production team in a fast-paced theatre environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead scenic construction and carpentry projects, including building and installing set pieces
Assist with planning, execution, and maintenance of technical elements for productions and events
Support and/or lead production load-ins and load-outs
Hang, focus, circuit, maintain, and program lighting instruments and basic lighting cues
Set up, operate, and mix live sound for performances and events
Troubleshoot lighting, sound, and scenic challenges independently
Execute projects efficiently while maintaining safety and production quality
Manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight production timelines
Communicate technical needs and elevate issues when necessary
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in technical theatre (lighting, sound, and scenic carpentry)
Working knowledge of lighting consoles, sound boards, and theatrical systems
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work comfortably at heights
Must be 18 years or older
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
Schedule Expectations
Full-time position
Variable schedule based on production calendar
Evenings and weekends required
