
Overview
The Sales Manager will lead sales, account management and business development activities for U.S. operations, with primary responsibility for the PMT plant. This role requires strong automotive industry experience, cross-functional coordination and the ability to manage customer relationships from quotation through program launch and ongoing production.
Responsibilities
Program Management
Understanding of Program Management / Launch activities including, Gate Reviews, Timing, Quoting, Tool Kickoff, etc.
Sales and Business Development
Drive sales growth and business development initiatives for U.S. operations, primarily supporting the PMT plant.
Identify and develop opportunities within Commercial Vehicle (CV), Off-Highway and Defense segments.
Lead RFQs, pricing strategies and commercial negotiations.
Account Management
Serve as primary commercial contact for all plant customers.
Manage daily customer communications related to sales activities.
Monitor and review EDI releases in coordination with the Supply Chain team.
Maintain strong relationships with customer plants and purchasing teams.
Program and Project Management
Lead new program launches, ensuring APQP milestones are achieved.
Coordinate closely with customers and internal cross-functional teams (engineering, supply chain, operations).
Ensure smooth transition from award to production.
Financial and Reporting Responsibilities
Manage account receivables and support timely collections.
Prepare and maintain sales forecasts, MIS reports and annual budget plans.
Support strategic sales planning initiatives.
Requirements
Bachelors Degree strongly preferred - Supply Chain or Engineering
5+ years of experience in program management, sales, business development or plant engineering within the automotive industry
Experience in the Defense sector is a plus.
MUST HAVE experience / knowledge in drivetrain, powertrain or chassis systems.
Prior experience supporting GM and or Stellantis customers is preferred, along with knowledge of the OEM Supplier Portal systems.
Demonstrated experience in project management and new program launches (APQP experience).
Strong customer relationship management skills
Strong knowledge of program launch for customer programs
Commercial negotiation and business development capabilities
Cross-functional collaboration
Financial acumen (forecasting, budgeting, receivables)
Work Environment
This is a hybrid remote position working 3 days per week in the office.
Must be able to travel 1-2 weeks per month to customer sites and to the Manufacturing Production plant located in Tennessee.
