
Byggmeister is seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter to supervise and work alongside our field crew on high-quality residential remodeling projects throughout the metro Boston area. This role is ideal for a skilled craftsperson who takes pride in frame-to-finish work and is motivated by collaboration, sustainability, and craftsmanship. Success in this position looks like delivering beautiful, durable renovations on time and on budget, supporting team members in the field, and creating positive experiences for clients in their homes. As a Lead Carpenter, you play a key role in translating our design vision into reality and advancing our mission to steward Boston-area homes responsibly.

Supervise and collaborate with field crew members to execute frame-to-finish residential remodeling projects Interpret and implement construction documents and project specifications accurately Maintain project timelines, organization, and quality standards on active job sites Communicate clearly with team members, project managers, and homeowners Uphold strict jobsite safety practices and maintain clean, organized work environments Use cloud-based communication and project management tools to track progress Mentor team members and support skill development on site Apply or learn high-performance and environmentally responsible construction practices Qualifications
5+ years of residential carpentry experience across all construction phases Demonstrated supervisory or crew leadership experience Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Familiarity with or interest in high-performance construction methods Construction Supervisor’s License or willingness to obtain one Comfort using digital communication and project management tools Commitment to continuous learning and professional development Reliable transportation to job sites in the metro Boston area Tool, cell phone, and vehicle allowance Paid conferences and professional training opportunities Paid time off and paid volunteer time off Health insurance 401(k) with employer match Opportunity to apply for employee ownership after 3 years Interview Process
