Location (city, state): Winchester, VA - Fully on-site
Assignment Type: Direct Hire
Pay: $85,000 - $90,000 annually
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week, Standard business hours

Job Description: The Director of Human Resources provides strategic leadership for all aspects of the HR function, partnering with executive leadership to build a high-performing, inclusive, and compliant organization. This role balances big-picture people strategy with hands-on execution across talent, culture, and operations
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with organizational goals and business priorities
Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, and culture
Lead change management initiatives to support growth and transformation
Talent Management
Oversee talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning
Design and implement employee development, leadership training, and career progression programs
Ensure competitive compensation, benefits, and rewards strategies
Employee Relations & Culture
Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-engagement workplace culture
Guide and resolve complex employee relations matters with professionalism and discretion
Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the organization
HR Operations & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws, regulations, and policies
Oversee HR policies, procedures, and systems (HRIS, payroll coordination, benefits administration)
Manage risk related to employee relations, labor law, and workplace practices
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team, setting clear goals and performance expectations
Manage the HR budget and vendor relationships effectively
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
Advanced degree and/or SHRM, PHR, or SPHR certification strongly preferredli>
Significant progressive experience in HR leadership roles
Strong working knowledge of multi-state employment laws and HR best practices
Experience with HRIS platforms, budgeting, and complex HR operations
Advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs)
Excellent judgment, communication skills, and ability to handle sensitive matters discreetly
