Role Description The In-House Landman (Contractor) | Permian / Southern New Mexico role is a contract-based position located on-site in Houston, Texas. Responsibilities include supporting the Land department by reviewing land-related contracts, conducting title research, analyzing lease agreements, and other detailed analysis to prepare drill ready DSU's. The Landman will also utilize technology and mapping tools to support project analysis and ensure the smooth execution of operational development plans.
Qualifications
Experience with title research, verification, and documentation
Review DTOs, DOTOs, and New Mexico title materials
Review leases, amendments, assignments, and burdening documents
Summarize JOAs, units, farmouts, AMIs, and related contracts
Proficiency in interpreting contracts
Verify and reconcile WI and NRI
Identify title defects and manage curative through completion
Technical skills in mapping software and land data management systems
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work on-site in Houston, Texas
Previous experience in the Permian Basin and BLM is preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus
