Assessment Lead Position Summary The Assessment Lead is responsible for the responsibility of the assessment lead is to perform the evaluation and admission process in conjunction with the on-call physician. assists the director of assessment in directing all department activities and monitoring the quality of services provided.

Essential Functions

Facilitates response to request for services, including the initial response, the assessment and referral process, the designation of appropriate level of care, admission into services and appropriate follow up activity

Conducts initial evaluation, initiates the assessment, documenting patient symptomology, functioning, needs and provides information to MD for LOC determination

Demonstrates excellent customer serviced skills in assisting patients, physicians, visitors and coworkers in a prompt and courteous manner

Possess clear knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and processes and EMTALA

Maintains all preadmission and admission paperwork with accuracy, completes all per-certification with insurance companies

Ensures appropriate staffing for shift

Minimizes use of overtimeAssists in monitoring attendance

Educates and coaches staff and acts as a point person for clinical decisions

Reports all issues and incidents to the Director of appropriately

Ensures staff has completed all needed documentation, call logging, insurance calls, and additional tasks prior to the end of shift

Reports to: Director of Assessment

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility working with adult and geriatric patients preferred. Must have strong clinical assessment skills.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Education Associate's Degree in Nursing Required or Master's degree in Social Work/Counseling required.

License Current clinical, social work, or RN license as required by state regulations.

Certifications CPR and De-escalation certification required or obtain within 30 days of hire.
