
Our client, an expert in energy efficiency and a wholesaler/distributor of HVAC and Refrigeration Equipment, is looking for an HVAC Contractor Sales Representative with experience in all aspects of HVAC products.
The Technical Contractor Sales Representative specializes in HVAC systems, with a focus on hydronic heating and cooling systems and air source heat pumps. This role requires engaging directly with mechanical contractors, service contractors, and installation teams while supporting product applications to ensure successful product selection, installation, and long-term customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems, excellent relationship-building skills, and the ability to drive sales growth within the contractor channel.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain relationships with mechanical engineers, providing technical guidance on hydronic systems and air source heat pump applications
Support contractors with project challenges by offering tailored product solutions that meet jobsite and performance requirements
Conduct technical training sessions, including Lunch-and-Learn presentations, for engineers and other stakeholders
Develop and deliver educational content highlighting features, benefits, and applications of the products and design solutions
Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to provide thought leadership during training events
Collaborate with project teams to review plans and specifications to identify opportunities for the products
Identify and pursue new opportunities to introduce products
Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to expand the network of consulting engineers and contractors
Serve as a subject matter expert on hydronic systems, air source heat pumps, and other HVAC technologies
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to HVAC products
Work with internal engineering, sales, and marketing teams to align strategies and share field feedback
Maintain detailed records of contractor engagements, project progress, and training sessions
Provide regular reports on specification wins, project milestones, and customer feedback
Qualifications
Bachelor’ s degree in technical field preferred or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience in HVAC engineering, with a focus on hydronic systems and/or air source heat pumps
Strong technical knowledge of HVAC system design and equipment applications
Familiarity with local building codes, industry standards and contractors workflows
Strong relationship-building, communication and consultative sales skills
Compensation
Base salary up to 100k/year
Annual bonus structure
