Description of the position

The Broker-Dealer Compliance Specialist will support internal assessments by conducting reviews and targeted assessments of broker-dealer operations, with a strong emphasis on compliance with FINRA rules and SEC regulations. This role requires in-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks to identify risks, evaluate controls, and recommend enhancements to ensure the firm meets its obligations under securities laws. Responsibilities

Lead internal assessments of broker-dealer functions, focusing on FINRA rules (e.g., supervision under Rule 3110, books and records under Rule 4511, AML under Rule 3310) and SEC regulations (e.g., Exchange Act Rules 15c3-1 net capital, 15c3-3 customer protection, Regulation Best Interest, and anti-fraud provisions). Evaluate compliance with key areas including customer onboarding, trading practices, best execution, suitability, disclosures, margin requirements, and reporting obligations. Review policies, procedures, supervisory systems, and internal controls for effectiveness and regulatory alignment. Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Operations, and other teams to obtain evidence, perform walkthroughs, and test controls. Prepare clear, detailed reports with findings, risk ratings, root causes, and practical recommendations. Monitor regulatory developments from FINRA and SEC (e.g., enforcement actions, guidance, exam priorities). Assist in developing broker-dealer-specific programs and testing methodologies. Track remediation of issues and support responses to regulatory inquiries or exams. Maintain independence while applying broker-dealer regulatory expertise. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Law, or related field. 5+ years of experience in compliance, regulatory examination, or risk roles within a broker-dealer or financial services firm. Strong working knowledge of FINRA rules and SEC regulations applicable to broker-dealers. Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. High ethical standards, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information. Active or recent FINRA licenses, particularly – Series 14 (Compliance Officer); Series 7 (General Securities Representative); SIE (Securities Industry Essentials).
