Job Title: Trade Compliance Specialist This full‑time, long‑term role requires a comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of various international trade regulations, including ITAR, EAR, OFAC sanctions, and more. You will play a pivotal role in managing and enforcing compliance processes related to both imports and exports within the aerospace sector.

Responsibilities

Perform ITAR/EAR product and technology classification, as well as HTS/Schedule B for import and export.

Complete applications for export and technology licenses, DSPs, and TAAs with assistance from the Director.

Prepare CJs and CCATS with assistance from the Director.

Oversee and manage engineering documentation, drawings, and technical knowledge for aerospace.

Oversee and manage transactional compliance, process implementation, and enforcement across the company.

Act as the company liaison for all trade compliance‑related inquiries.

Produce and analyze reports for classifications, free trade agreements, and valuation.

Manage the Visual Compliance dataset of customers, suppliers, programs, products, licenses, and associated metadata.

Participate in the business quotation and proposal process to ensure trade compliance is reviewed and analyzed.

Ensure that licensing and classification needs are anticipated to prevent delays and business impact.

Provide oversight of the export compliance relationship with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other third parties.

Proactively manage trade compliance risks to prevent violations.

Create SSP customized training materials and conduct regular trade compliance training for all departments.

Create, maintain, and implement technology control plans.

Perform internal audits and support Division level audits and external audits.

Essential Skills

A college degree in a technical field.

5+ years of experience working with government and non‑government programs.

Experience working within an engineering team, including reviewing technical drawings and industry regulations.

Hands‑on experience in export/trade compliance, preferably in the aerospace industry.

Experience with EAR technology licenses, including SNAP‑R entry.

Experience performing CCL product classifications, preferably Category 9.

Experience in HTS/Schedule B classification.

Experience in international shipping documentation and customs procedures.

Experience in the aerospace trade compliance environment is strongly preferred.

Experience in direct communication with BIS/DD personnel is preferred.

Experience in trade compliance policy and process writing and implementation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with license exception STA is advantageous.

Experience with authoring and requesting CJs/CCATS is beneficial.

Work Environment You will report to the Director of Project Engineering and collaborate with both the engineering and contracts teams. The work is conducted onsite with flexible hours between 7 AM and 4 PM, with core hours of availability from 9 AM to 3 PM. The environment includes two teams: Project Engineers and Design Engineers. The role offers a flexible start time between 6 AM and 8:30 AM.

Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Burbank, CA.

Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $80,000.00 – $110,000.00/yr.
