
Key Responsibilities
Administer export compliance activities in accordance with:
U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
U.S. Customs regulations
Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements
Classify products, components, and technical data under EAR/ITAR guidelines.
Prepare and review export documentation including:
Commercial invoices
Shipper's Export Declarations (SED/EEI)
Bills of lading
Certificates of origin
Coordinate export license applications and monitor license provisos.
Conduct restricted party screenings and maintain audit-ready documentation.
Work closely with engineering, supply chain contracts, and program management teams to ensure compliant shipments.
Support internal and external compliance audits.
Maintain export records in accordance with regulatory retention requirements.
Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on trade compliance matters.
Identify and mitigate potential compliance risks.
Required Qualifications
Mandatory Certification: Export Customs Specialist Certificate OR Export Specialist Certificate
3-7 years of experience in export compliance, customs administration, or trade compliance within aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing industries.
Strong working knowledge of ITAR and EAR regulations.
Proficiency in ERP systems and export compliance software tools.
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-packed, regulated environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with defense contracts or controlled technical data.
Familiarity with Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications.
Experience supporting government audits or voluntary disclosures.
Bachelor's degree in international business, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
A Certified Export Specialists is preferred.
