
Senior Director, Data Center Operations

Job Description
As Senior Director of Operations, you own day‑to‑day execution, uptime, safety, and site performance across OCI data centers. This role is the ultimate accountable owner for operational outcomes, responsible for very large or complex data center sites across multiple regions or countries. You define the group‑wide strategy for performance monitoring, aligning KPIs and objectives to drive global efficiency, uptime, and customer satisfaction. You oversee capacity evaluations for physical, power, cooling, and security needs to ensure readiness and operational excellence, partner with executive leadership on long‑term operational and financial targets, and drive the adoption of automation and predictive analytics. You establish crisis management and process improvement standards, promote a culture of knowledge sharing and compliance, lead major expansion initiatives, serve as the senior executive liaison across regions, and manage the full lifecycle of hardware assets, including installations, maintenance, procurement, large investments, and audits to optimize efficiency, security, and scalability.
Responsibilities
Data Center Site Portfolio Management
- Responsibility for very large or complex sites or responsibility for multiple regions/countries.
Performance Monitoring and Analysis
- Define enterprise strategy for performance monitoring for all data centers in the group, aligning KPIs and objectives to drive efficiency, uptime, and customer satisfaction at a global scale.
- Oversee evaluation of physical, power, cooling, and security capacity to ensure future‑readiness and sustained operational excellence.
- Partner with executive leadership to set and achieve multi‑year operational and financial targets for the group.
Issue Management and Automation
- Drive adoption of automation and predictive analytics for regional/country technical issues, ensuring high availability and rapid remediation of service‑impacting events.
- Establish and govern standards for escalation, crisis management, root cause analysis, and continuous process improvement.
- Champion a culture of knowledge sharing, ensuring best practices and lessons learned are disseminated regionally.
- Lead post‑incident review panels and process reform to ensure resilience and regulatory compliance.
Data Center Expansion Support
- Lead expansion initiatives including new region builds, site launches, and transformation programs; ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Serve as the primary senior executive liaison with cross‑regional portfolio leaders, engineering, and project management teams.
- Establish partnerships (internal and external) to maximize resources, develop talent pipelines, and promote Oracle’s reputation for world‑class data center operations.
Installation and Maintenance
- Oversee and integrate all facets of installation, maintenance, logistics, and inventory management across several regionally dispersed or complex data center portfolios.
- Define and enforce enterprise standards, setting expectations for efficiency, security, and scalability in procurement and lifecycle management of all hardware assets.
- Approve and manage multi‑million dollar investments in upgrades, capacity expansion, and critical infrastructure improvements.
- Direct operational audits and risk assessments to optimize deployment and maintenance strategies.

- Provide strategic oversight on the management and execution of large‑scale projects or initiatives, monitoring timelines, deliverables, and budgets to ensure success.
Collaboration & Partnership
- Set strategic direction for collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment of expectations and strategic objectives.

- Develop and implement strategies for advanced problem‑solving efforts across the organization, serving as an escalation point for highly complex operational or technical issues.
