Duties
- Perform full-range supervisory duties, including planning work, setting priorities, and mentoring a multi-disciplinary team to ensure mission success and professional growth.
- Direct the planning, organization, and execution of complex, national-scope Space Force programs, leading multi-agency efforts to resolve unprecedented technical and sustainment challenges.
- Develop and implement innovative acquisition strategies, policies, and program goals to reduce cycle time while meeting cost, schedule, and performance requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of program goals to drive long-range planning and represent the organization at executive levels to advocate for objectives and resolve critical issues.
- Partner with contracting officers to manage and approve budgets, contracting plans, and modifications to the scope of work.
- Communicate with clarity, conciseness, and technical accuracy to diverse stakeholders at all levels, both orally and in writing.
Knowledge and Skills
- Senior-Level Program Management: Extensive experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and solving complex problems within the aerospace or defense sectors.
- Supervisory Leadership and Mentorship: Ability to lead, inspire, and guide others toward goal accomplishment, including coaching, mentoring, and challenging team members to foster growth and improve production.
- Acquisition Expertise: Strong understanding of acquisition methodologies, with the skill to plan, organize, and direct all critical aspects of a program, from development and production to sustainment.
- Executive Communication and Influence: Ability to communicate clearly and with technical accuracy, influence policy decisions, and lead significant changes within a complex organization.
- Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field is required. A master’s degree is highly preferred.
Key Skills and Abilities
- Mastery of the policies, practices, regulations, and laws concerning the acquisition management processes, initiatives and program management.
- Ability to lead significant changes, influence policy decisions, and guide others toward goal accomplishment, including coaching, mentoring and challenging team members of a multidisciplinary staff.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of DoD, Space Force, and other organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence the acquisition process of supported programs.
- Skill in planning, organizing, and directing the function and staffing critical aspects of development, production, and support of systems, subsystems, or equipment to coordinate various aspects of acquisition.
- Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.
