Associate Director, Global Supply Planning

Position overview and responsibilities for AbbVie’s US Medical Device & Aesthetics global supply planning organization, supporting significant revenue streams and ensuring product availability and financial performance.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership to the US Medical Device & Aesthetics supply planning team and accountability for supply planning activities to maintain required product availability while meeting strategic and financial needs of each brand, balancing IME/TPM plan requirements.
  • Drive resolution of supply disruptions, capacity constraints, or other issues affecting product availability; communicate challenges to senior leaders in Operations and the broader AbbVie organization.
  • Lead strategic programs to enhance planning capabilities; influence senior management to establish a business case for change.
  • Identify and evaluate continuous improvement opportunities to elevate team performance and drive organizational efficiencies; sponsor projects to implement improvements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including Distribution & Logistics, Operations Brand Management, Demand Planning, Commercial, Quality, Internal Manufacturing & Engineering, External Supply and Finance.
  • Oversee the critical partnership between Supply Planning and manufacturing sites, including external suppliers, and ensure the success of joint planning processes.
  • Deliver short- and long-term financial, customer service, and other performance goals of the Supply Chain organization.
  • Be a member of the Global Supply Planning leadership team supporting global supply strategy development and deployment.
  • Motivate, coach, and develop managers and supervisors; promote AbbVie culture and foster a positive, high-motivation team environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business Management required.
  • Master of Business Administration strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in Operations, with strong experience in Supply Chain and Manufacturing; pharmaceutical manufacturing experience desired.
  • Pharmaceutical/Medical Devices experience required.
  • Excellent leadership and people management experience required.
  • Strategic mindset with enterprise-level thinking.
  • Strong communication skills and executive presence for interacting with senior leaders.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proven success in leading effective teams and fostering collaboration across cultural and organizational boundaries.
  • Proven ability to manage, implement, and influence large change management programs.

  • The compensation range described below is a range of possible base pay compensation the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of posting, based on the job grade. Individual compensation will depend on location and other factors, and may be higher or lower than the posted range.
