Job Summary

The Inside Sales Manager, Engineered Solutions leads a team of inside sales and order management professionals responsible for both the quoting and order entry processes for engineered solutions, ensuring a seamless transition from opportunity to execution. This role oversees the development of accurate, competitive quotes through close cross‑functional collaboration with Product Management and Engineering and ensures customer requirements are fully defined prior to order release. The Inside Sales Manager serves as the central coordination point between Sales, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Customer Support to ensure orders are processed correctly and delivered on time. This role is both a people leader and a process owner, driving operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of inside sales and order entry professionals to deliver high levels of accuracy, responsiveness, and customer service.
  • Set clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable to quality, productivity, and service‑level targets.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide ongoing feedback, and support professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative, customer‑focused team culture aligned with company values.
  • Oversee order entry for engineered solutions, ensuring accuracy of configurations, pricing, lead times, and contractual requirements.
  • Serve as escalation point for complex or high‑risk orders requiring cross‑functional coordination or exception handling.
  • Ensure orders are released cleanly and on time to Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain.
  • Monitor order status from entry through shipment, proactively addressing risks to on‑time delivery.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Inside Sales and support functions including Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Logistics.
  • Facilitate effective handoffs and communication to ensure customer requirements are clearly understood and executed.
  • Partner with Outside Sales, Sales Management, and Product Management to align customer expectations with operational capabilities.
  • Ensure timely and professional communication with customers regarding order status, changes, and delivery commitments.
  • Support resolution of customer issues related to order accuracy, lead times, and delivery performance.
  • Drive a proactive, solutions‑oriented approach to customer challenges.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, cycle time, backlog health, and on‑time delivery.
  • Identify process gaps and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Support system and process enhancements related to CRM, ERP, and order management workflows.

Required Education & Experience

  • Years of Experience: 5–7 Years
  • Inside Sales, Order Management, or Sales Operations, preferably in an engineered‑to‑order or industrial environment
  • 2+ years of people management experience with direct reports
  • Strong understanding of order‑to‑cash processes and cross‑functional workflows
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
  • Years of Experience: 8–11 Years
  • Experience supporting engineered or configurable products
  • Familiarity with ERP and CRM systems
  • Background working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain teams
