An established industrial organization is seeking a hands-on IT Director to lead technology operations while aligning enterprise systems with business performance goals. This role blends strategic leadership with day-to-day execution, requiring strong ownership of ERP platforms, data integrity, and IT service delivery within a lean operating environment (responsible for all of IT, end-to-end). The ideal candidate is a practical technology leader who drives measurable outcomes through disciplined execution and cross-functional partnership.

  • Bloomington, MN (5 days a week in-office position)

Pay Range

  • up to $175K base salary + annual bonus

Roles & Responsibilities

IT Leadership & Technology Strategy

  • Define and execute a pragmatic technology roadmap aligned to organizational priorities and growth objectives
  • Establish clear governance, prioritization frameworks, and performance metrics for IT initiatives
  • Ensure technology investments support operational efficiency, scalability, and measurable business value

Enterprise Systems & ERP Leadership

  • Own governance, performance, and continuous improvement of ERP and core enterprise applications
  • Maintain system stability, data accuracy, and structured change management practices
  • Partner with business leaders to optimize workflows and system utilization
  • Oversee integrations between ERP, CRM, analytics, and operational platforms

Data & Reporting Enablement

  • Strengthen master data governance and enterprise data quality standards
  • Improve reporting capabilities and business visibility through modern analytics tools
  • Support data-driven decision-making across operational and financial functions

IT Operations & Service Delivery

  • Lead IT operations with defined service management processes and accountability measures
  • Implement best practices for incident, change, and problem management
  • Establish service performance expectations and operational KPIs
  • Ensure cybersecurity controls, infrastructure reliability, and risk mitigation practices

Business Partnership & Collaboration

  • Act as a strategic technology advisor to functional leaders across operations, finance, engineering, and commercial teams
  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Promote alignment around systems ownership, data standards, and process improvements

Team & Vendor Management

  • Lead and mentor a small internal IT team while coordinating external service providers
  • Manage vendor performance, contracts, and delivery expectations
  • Oversee IT budgeting with a focus on efficiency, value realization, and ROI

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience leading IT functions with direct ownership of enterprise systems and ERP platforms
  • Hands‑on ERP expertise within manufacturing, industrial, or operations-driven environments
  • Successful leadership traits include strategic thinking combined with hands‑on execution, willingness to roll up sleeves and work alongside teams, and ability to drive results without excessive approvals
  • Strong understanding of enterprise applications, integrations, and business process optimization
  • Experience supporting BI/reporting solutions (e.g., Power BI or similar analytics tools)
  • Knowledge of IT service management frameworks (ITIL or comparable practices preferred)
  • Demonstrated project delivery experience using structured methodologies (Agile, Scrum, or hybrid approaches)
  • Ability to operate effectively at both strategic and tactical levels
  • Strong communication skills with experience influencing stakeholders across all organizational levels
  • Analytical mindset with structured problem‑solving capabilities
  • High accountability, ownership mentality, and execution focus
