Job Description: We are seeking a creative, compassionate, and dedicated Activities Director to lead and implement engaging recreational programs for our residents at (Nursing Home Name). The Activities Director will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by planning and coordinating a variety of meaningful activities that promote socialization, mental stimulation, and physical well-being.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and oversee daily recreational and therapeutic activities for residents
- Develop activity programs that cater to the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual needs of residents
- Supervise and train activity staff, ensuring effective implementation of programs
- Encourage resident participation and foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere
- Maintain accurate records of activities, attendance, and resident progress
- Work closely with other departments, including nursing and social services, to ensure the overall well‑being of residents
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and facility requirements
Qualifications
- Must be certified as an Activities Director in New Jersey (or in the process of obtaining certification)
- Previous experience in long‑term care or a healthcare setting preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for improving the lives of senior residents
