Social Media and Marketing Manager
The Humane Society for Southwest Washington (HSSW) is currently seeking a Social Media and Marketing Manager to join our team. This full‑time, FLSA nonexempt position reports to the Associate Vice President of Communications and Marketing and focuses on creating, delivering, and measuring innovative content across our social media platforms, website, and marketing initiatives.
Responsibilities
Oversee HSSW and ReTails Thrift Store social media presence on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other platforms.
Manage day‑to‑day social media activities, including content creation (photography, video, graphics), notifications, and audience engagement.
Establish benchmarks, develop plans to increase audience, followers, reach, and engagement, and track performance metrics.
Monitor industry trends and best practices and recommend new tools, channels, or strategies for implementation.
Analyze, review, and report on social media metrics, including organic and paid results.
Manage paid advertising campaigns across social media platforms.
Provide copywriting support for internal communications, including weekly digest emails and monthly newsletters.
Lead copywriting and content planning for external communications such as event communications, program materials, and the monthly WAG newsletter.
Support production of print and marketing materials and event communications.
Maintain the HSSW website, ensuring up‑to‑date content and consistent brand voice; coordinate with stakeholders for updates.
Provide regular support for third‑party software (Constant Contact, Classy, Shelter Buddy, etc.).
Develop and implement strategic advertising plans, supervising all print and digital advertising including paid social media and local outlets.
Oversee digital presence on business platforms (Google Business, Yelp, Apple Business, etc.) and support SEO and marketing initiatives.
Collaborate with program stakeholders to support marketing and communication initiatives across the organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, or a related field preferred; a minimum of 8 years of digital advertising, marketing, and branding experience may substitute a degree.
Demonstrated success in developing and executing marketing campaigns and communications.
Strong creative, analytical, organizational, and personal skills with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent writing, editing, content creation, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Experience developing and implementing effective social marketing strategies.
Familiarity with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and other Adobe Suite products preferred.
Ability to build and maintain authentic relationships with colleagues and partners.
Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record (Motor Vehicle Record check required).
Compensation Hourly pay range: $25.24 to $30.72 per hour, commensurate with experience.
