Wire Operations Specialist
Position Summary:
The Wire Operations Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all incoming and outgoing wire transfers. This role ensures compliance with internal controls, Federal Reserve requirements, and established bank procedures. The Specialist will support branch personnel and internal teams by providing research, guidance, and exceptional service related to wire activity, online banking, and electronic banking operations.
Key Responsibilities
Obtain and review all wire transfer requests from internal banking platforms and the wire transfer system.
Confirm proper authorization for all outgoing wire requests.
Verify incoming wire transfers for accurate account ownership prior to posting.
Electronically process wire requests from online banking channels into WireXchange for transmission to the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB).
Ensure all branch and online wires are received, processed, and transmitted accurately by end‑of‑day deadlines.
Process all incoming FRB wires to the appropriate member accounts.
Balance and reconcile wire totals at midday and end‑of‑day.
Operational Support
Assist internal teams with wire‑related research and inquiries.
Answer and manage the dedicated wire transfer phone line.
Monitor and maintain balances with correspondent banks.
Process electronic securities transactions.
Complete consumer online banking enrollments.
Assist with mobile deposit review and exception handling.
Required Qualifications
1-3 years of previous banking experience, specifically with online banking systems and wire transfers.
Experience reviewing wire activity, deposits, and account activity to identify potential fraud, holds, or risk concerns.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to correspond professionally with branch staff, approvers, and executive leadership.
Background in branch banking roles such as Teller, Universal Banker, or Personal Banker.
High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Experience in credit union or community banking environments.
Familiarity with WireXchange or similar wire processing platforms.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
