Dmc Golf Course Professional/Pro Shop Manager

Manager with extensive experience in golf and tournament operation as well as corporate and group outing administration. Manager should have at least 3 years of experience in high-end public or resort course operation with an emphasis on group, outing and tournament marketing and administration. The ability to work in cooperation with other departments is critical to provide our guests with an exceptional golf and gaming experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: High school diploma/GED AA degree in Business Administration or related field preferred Experienced in GHIN USGA Handicap System 4 years of supervisor experience Knowledge of business practices such as budgeting, expense control, staffing, and training Knowledge of gaming rules, operational procedures and guest development preferred Preferred: Strongly prefer PGA Certification or can demonstrate working toward certification goal Experience with Agilysys Golf POS 2 years of experience in high-end public or resort course operation group, outing and tournament marketing and administration Skills: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Strong planning and organizational skills Excellent guest service skills Abilities: Fully capable of accurately operating a point-of-sale system Ability to negotiate pricing, delivery, and payment terms with vendors Must be able to obtain a Key Gaming License Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Implementation of policies and procedures and regular scheduling of staff meetings Oversees all Pro Shop services and operations Oversees the reservation system, starting, and monitoring of play Oversees the administration of the handicap program Meet, greet, and welcome prospective guests Enforce all rules and regulations governing golf course usage Develop and manage an innovative tournament program that services all guest segments Develop and oversee the golf instruction and golfer development programs for all guest segments Oversee the operation of a well-managed practice facility Maintain close working relationships with the superintendent and all other department heads Assist in the marketing and promotion of daily play, new tournaments and events Assist in the preparation of budgets, including forecasting and review of all golf revenues and expenses on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis Maintain and oversee a profitable merchandise concession that is consistent with patron demographics and needs Establish sales goals and forecasts for all golf programs and services, monitor and analyze reports Assist in all golf related purchases Implement cash and system controls to ensure the safekeeping of assets, inventory and resources Supervise physical inventories and display of merchandise Assist in the development of necessary systems to safeguard inventories Assist in the publication of newsletters, informational and promotional materials Assist in developing an apprentice program for potential employees interested in pursuing the profession of golf as a career through the PGA of Americas educational and training programs Compile information from market competition for comparison studies to properly position the facility in the regional marketplace Perform other duties as assigned Benefits: Fees generated from golf teaching lessons go to the Head Professional Quarterly bonuses based on performance PGA Certification/Dues paid for including conferences and national PGA show Full benefits package, including PTO, insurances, & 401k after 90-day probationary period Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
