Overview
The Assistant Golf Professional supports the Head Golf Professional and golf operations team in delivering an exceptional golf experience for members and guests at Country Club of Gwinnett. This role assists with daily golf operations, tournament management, instruction, and pro shop operations while promoting the game of golf and the club's programs.
Assistant Golf Professionals help manage day-to-day golf activities such as pro shop operations, instruction, tournaments, and member services to ensure a high-quality club experience.
Experience Required
PGA Apprentice or actively pursuing PGA Membership preferred
Prior golf course or country club experience preferred
Strong knowledge of
golf rules, instruction, and golf operations
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to work
weekends, holidays, and tournament events
Strong organizational and leadership skills
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Essential Responsibilities
Provide exceptional service to members and guests before, during, and after their golf experience
Assist with
daily golf operations
including tee sheet management, pace of play, and practice facility oversight
Help organize and execute
club tournaments, member events, and outings
Provide
individual and group golf instruction , clinics, and junior programs
Assist with
PGA Junior League and junior golf programming
Support
pro shop operations , including merchandising, inventory control, and sales
Maintain the
USGA handicap system
and tournament scoring
Assist with
golf cart fleet operations and staging areas
Help supervise outside service staff and pro shop personnel
Promote club events, leagues, and member programs
Serve as a
starter or marshal when needed
Assistant professionals also frequently manage inventory, coordinate tournaments, provide instruction, and oversee pro shop operations.
