Position Description Position Title: Sales Trainer

Reports to: Training Manager

Classification: Full-Time/Exempt/Salaried

Position Overview Sales Trainers are the frontline of Range USA's sales excellence strategy, ensuring every store delivers the exceptional customer experience that defines our brand. Based in a prominent market with a designated home store, you'll spend 70% of your time in the field—onboarding new store leaders and transforming underperforming locations. You'll work as a strategic partner to your District Leader, deployed where training impact is highest, with a clear path to Store Leader promotion.

Job Description Field Training & Coaching

Deliver comprehensive Retail & Sales 101 training to new Store Leaders and Assistant Store Leaders across all Range USA locations

Transform underperforming stores through intensive, on-site performance improvement programs that diagnose challenges, address skill deficiencies, and implement corrective action plans

Work side-by-side with associates to model exceptional customer engagement and consultative sales techniques

Facilitate role-playing exercises and mock customer interactions to reinforce sales techniques and build associate confidence

Conduct skills assessments and certify team members on core sales competencies

Strategic Partnership & Deployment

Partner with assigned District Leader to identify highest-impact training opportunities

Focus deployment on new store leadership onboarding and lowest-performing stores in district (measured by Average Dollars Per Guest)

Support new store openings with comprehensive team training and launch support

Drive measurable improvement in key sales metrics at targeted locations

Provide regular performance updates and training recommendations to District Leader and Sales Training Manager

Program Development & Documentation

Collaborate with the Sales Training Manager to establish certification requirements and competency standards for sales positions

Document best practices and success stories from high-performing locations to share across the organization

Monitor training completion rates and associate progress, ensuring accountability and program effectiveness

Continuously evaluate and enhance training delivery through feedback analysis and performance data review

Support the development of a sales mentorship program to promote peer‑to‑peer learning

Home Store Operations (30% of time)

Maintain operational expertise by working regular shifts at assigned home store

Model best practices and mentor home store team members on GEAR methodology

Stay current on product knowledge, systems, and store operations

Monitor key sales metrics and performance indicators at home store

Assist with home store leadership responsibilities as needed

Professional Development

Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain expert-level sales and product knowledge

Prepare for future Store Leader role through progressive responsibility and leadership exposure

Complete all required Range USA leadership and training development programs

Stay current on firearms industry trends, compliance requirements, and best practices

Time Allocation & Travel

70% Field Training: New leader onboarding, underperforming store coaching, team development, new store openings

30% Home Store: Operational duties, team support, maintaining current expertise

Up to 75% travel; primarily day trips within district; occasional overnight stays as needed

Minimum 3 years’ retail sales experience with demonstrated success (consistently met/exceeded goals)

Minimum 3 years’ training experience, preferably in a retail environment

Natural coaching ability with proven track record of developing others

Strong communication skills (verbal & written) including relationship building

Experience creating, documenting, and reporting on training programs

High level of competency in assigned work area; readily shares knowledge with others

Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

Availability to work flexible schedule including nights and weekends as needed
