
Senior Sales Representative- Wholesale Plumbing & HVAC Distribution

The Role: Relationship‑driven outside sales position focused on calling on plumbing and mechanical contractors throughout the Indiana market. The role blends account management and new business development, with flexibility around territory based on existing relationships.
Approximately 75% in the field, 25% in the office
No rigid geographic territories – sales coverage is driven by relationships
Ability to be based out of the Indianapolis headquarters or another branch location
Key Responsibilities:
Build, maintain, and grow long‑term relationships with plumbing and mechanical contractors
Manage and expand existing accounts that are currently underserved
Identify and pursue new contractor and project opportunities
Conduct regular jobsite visits and customer meetings
Prepare quotes, sales orders, and follow‑up activity
Collaborate with branch teams to ensure strong customer service and execution
Meet and exceed quarterly gross profit and sales goals
Represent the company professionally within the contractor community
Required Experience:
10+ years of outside sales experience in wholesale plumbing distribution
Proven success selling to plumbing and/or mechanical contractors
Established relationships within the local or regional market
Strong ability to prospect, manage accounts, and close business
Self‑motivated, relationship‑oriented sales professional
Preferred Experience:
Experience calling on large or multi‑location contractors
Exposure to commercial or light industrial projects
Experience working in a distributor or employee‑owned (ESOP) environment
Comfort operating within a structured operating system (training provided)
Compensation and Benefits: Compensation for this role depends on a wide range of factors including experience, training, licensing, location and business needs. The salary range for the role is disclosed in this posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and can participate in medical, dental, vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
